For grant applicants .....

Help the Homeless works closely with CRASH, the construction industry's charity for homeless people. Their particular remit is assisting charitable organisations who require building refurbishment, or occasionally new build. Potential grant applicants whose requirements involve such work may wish to first visit their website at www.crash.org.uk.

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT We receive a large number of grant applications relating to the funding of computer equipment. Some applicants may not be aware of the various organisations that exist to supply equipment to charities at extremely competitive prices. We therefore ask all grant applicants to contact one of the following organisations before submitting their applications: a) The Charity Technology Exchange (www.ctxchange.org) b) Pugh Computers (www.pugh.co.uk) c) Donate a PC(www.donateapc.org.uk) If none of these organisations can assist, then we would suggest any regular supplier is asked for charity pricing.

FURNITURE DONATIONS While Help the Homeless greatly appreciates the gesture of proposed furniture donations, we do not, unfortunately, have the resources to accept and process such items. Instead, we propose you contact the Furniture for Re-Use Network (www.frn.org.uk) who arrange for a wide range of items to be re-distributed to needy households.

For volunteers.....

Help the Homeless does not offer any volunteering opportunities. We would suggest that potential volunteers contact one of the national volunteering bodies such as Timebank (www.timebank.org.uk), Community Service Volunteers (www. csv.org.uk) or Volunteering England (www.volunteering.org.uk/IWantToVolunteer).

Alternatively further charities centred on support for the homeless can be identified via the Charity Commission website. (www.charity-commission.gov.uk)
